  • INTERNATIONAL ART EDUCATOR & ART CLUB ADVISOR

    Current Position 8-12

    • PROFESSIONAL: Active member of the school Climate committee for School Improvement.  Led a professional development activity for implementing better design for educators.  
    •  INSTRUCTIONAL: Instructed ESL students in grades 8-12 in art courses including Art I, Photography, and Middle School Art 2 (8th grade). Designed new art program curriculum, standards & benchmarks,  rubrics, goals, and departmental constructs. Worked with local and international arts professionals to create opportunities for our students.  
    •   EXTRA-CURRICULAR: Advisor of the Art Club. Worked with students grades 7-12 to coordinate activities such as a Student Council cooperative event to fundraise, an art show, school murals, art workshops, and community service.
  • ART EDUCATOR & NATIONAL ART HONOR SOCIETY ADVISOR

    Previous Position 9-12

    • PROFESSIONAL: Chairperson of the school Climate committee from Fall 2008 until Fall 2010, including work with the Middle States Evaluation Committee & School Improvement Team Member.    
    •  INSTRUCTIONAL: Instructed students in grades 9-12 in art courses including AP Art History, Creative Crafts, Photography I, II, & III, Graphic Design I & II, and Foundations of Art.  Designed and  taught a new AP Art History course offering. Worked with numerous colleagues to design and implement interdisciplinary units of instruction including book illustration with anatomy students and language integration with graphic design.
    • EXTRA-CURRICULAR: Advisor and co-advisor of the National Art Honor Society(NAHS). Helped coordinate activities such as an annual art show, school murals, fundraising, special art projects, and community service.

     

  • ART EDUCATOR & TEAM LEADER

    Previous Position 6-8 & Gifted and Talented
    • PROFESSIONAL: Developed new departmental procedures.  Created a scope & sequence for our curriculum. Secured funding for art department projects. Created opportunities for increased parental involvement.  Actively worked with new technology through involvement in the technology committee.
    • INSTRUCTIONAL: Instructed students in grades 6-8 in art, including a section of Gifted & Talented 8th grade.  Created interdisciplinary displays with colleagues.
    • EXTRA-CURRICULAR: Restarted the MRMS Art Club. Started a clay club after obtaining a grant through the National Ceramics Museum. Developed a student service learning program in art. Began portfolio preparation classes after school.
  • ART EDUCATOR & ART CLUB ADVISOR

    Previous Position 9-12
    • PROFESSIONAL: Led special after school workshops, brought in guest presenters, held open studio nights, raised money for scholarships, and managed mural projects. Co-wrote new curricula for studio art classes.
    • INSTRUCTIONAL: Instructed students grades 9-12 in art courses such as Advanced Placement Art History, Computer Art, Web Design, Ceramics, Studio Art 2D, and Studio Art 3D.  Developed interdisciplinary lessons. Worked with independent study students.  Created the Chenango Forks AP Art History course. Fully integrated technology into the curriculum through the use of software, CD ROMS, PowerPoint presentations, slides, web-based activities, digital cameras, and LCD projectors.
    • EXTRA-CURRICULAR: Art Club Advisor 2000-2003. Activities include creating and coordinating Fine Arts Festivals, advising the art club, and overseeing trips to museums in New York City, Philadelphia, Corning, and Syracuse. 

     

  • OWNER, OPERATOR, EDUCATOR, ARTIST 

    at A2 ART STUDIO ages 5 through wise adult

    • Kept physical facilities in good repair and built special furniture pieces to improve business’ needs.
    • Successfully created an independent private art school and studio for students & professionals age 5- adult.
    • Taught classes for students of all ages in a wide range of materials including paint, glass, metals, clay, and more.
    • Conducted business operations including web site design and webmaster, mass emailing, design of all business materials, finances, records, licenses, ordering supplies, organization of materials, schedules, marketing, & customer contacts.
    • Created artwork and gallery shows.
    • Marketed and sold artwork done by myself and other artists from the studio.
  • ART EDUCATOR

    INSTRUCTIONAL: Instructed students in an extracurricular college youth program grades 4-12 in sculpture, jewelry, drawing, painting, crafts,  & fine art.  

  • ARTS ADMINISTRATION INTERN

    • Worked with the Pennsylvania Advisor for the Arts & Humanities to revise the arts and humanities standards. 
  • INSTRUCTOR

    • Co-instructed college classes on web design for educators.
  • RESEARCH ASSISTANT

    • Performed research in the field of educational ethics.
